I love the private beach and the pool next to the beach the most, also the sitting space to see the beach view

I stayed 4days 3nights. My key cards didn‘t work on my 3rd day, i have to walk around to the elevator quite a few times, it still didn‘t worked. I finally have to go downstair to the reception to reactivate my key cards.

There were many choices of food to choose from for the Breakfast.

Some facilities in the hotel property needs to be updated. For example, USB port is considered a basic facility but it's not available in the rooms. The cable TV channels such as Netflix is not available. The quality of the toiletries were quite disappointing. It feels like the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner are left there for a long time.

We had a pleasant 4-night stay at Mercure Penang Beach with our family, including a young child. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we loved the stunning sea views. The location is excellent, right by the beach and convenient for exploring Penang via Grab. Breakfast options were delicious and varied, with plenty of kid-friendly choices. Check-in and checkout were seamless and efficient.

On the downside, our bathroom had poor drainage (possibly just our room), causing water to pool during showers, which was inconvenient and disappointing. The AC controls were tricky to manage, often requiring multiple adjustments. We also noticed a few ants on the table, which was unexpected for a hotel of this standard.

We did not have hot water the first night. The couch was damaged. There were crumbs on the floor.

Overall the hotel was sufficient and in a location which we prefer. We also liked the cleaning staff which did a great job with the room cleaning and efficiency. They were friendly when we spoke to them and provided us with what we needed.

Reception staff could have been nicer, overall they were efficient at doing their job but we didn't get any smiles from them. Breakfast was mediocre and my wife actually got food poisoning from eating the breakfast. The beach was somehwat dirty with garbage.

Location

Not meeting expectations, better staff, no bottled water in the room. I asked for a sea view room and got it confirmed. Then, I arrive and I am being told there is no sea view room available. Nobody tells me the time of the breakfast, next day I am missing my breakfast which is already closing at 10am. I am being offered a coffee at least, then I am seriously being asked to pay that coffee. No bottled water in the room. The wifi seriously sucks. Given this is not a cheap hotel, I am not gonna come back. I expect more and believe you can get better customer service for your money.

The room was clean and the good part is the property has private beach.

When I arrived, I was quite disappointed with the service at the front desk. The staff member, Priya, did not greet me in a professional or welcoming manner. Instead of a polite hospitality approach, she simply asked me “yes?” without even making eye contact. During check-in, she did not smile once, which felt very unwelcoming for a 4-star hotel.I also asked her about the beach and the restaurant, but her responses lacked warmth and friendliness. For a hotel of this standard, I expected a more professional and hospitable experience. Overall, the service at the front desk did not meet the expectations of a 4-star property.

beach was accessible and clean

beach can be well maintained, which is not and full of visitors not guests of the hotel. reception staff not very reciprocative his answers were not helpful. no quality buffet was offered at the hotel. cuisine can be better for such a luxury hotel at a prime location.

The beach is clean and its just at the back of the hotel. Plenty of places to sit and just enjoy the breeze and the waves. The staffs are friendly and housekeeping is good. Parking is not a hassle.

Covered car park would have helped, especially when it rains. The a/c at the hotel restaurant could be cooler but that's what happens when you have glass windows to give you a complete view of the sea.

Its bit far from the city so when we took grab its bit longer, especially peak hour.

There is a wedding ceremony in an open area and loud music until 11 p.m. Loss of peace.

Location was excellent

Noise from wedding banquet travels from ground floor to the rooms so it was difficult to sleep with so much going on in the early hours of the morning! Perhaps hotel could restrict timing of parties so that other hotel guests can enjoy the venue too.

I recommend the sea view as it is quiet and beautiful. Confortable and clean bed.Great breakfast. Great stay

The bathroom is quite old with a bit of mold on the joins. The gym is simple. A bit far from everything.
